Young Connection: a storefront redesign that keeps what works
A redesign of a Canadian premium menswear storefront. The video hero stays exactly as it was, while the rest of the store gets a calmer layout and a clearer path to checkout.

Overview
Young Connection is a premium menswear brand based in Canada. Its storefront was originally built on Shopify and needed a fresh UI and a clearer shopping experience, without losing what already worked.

The challenge
The brand's video hero is central to its identity, so it had to stay exactly as it was. Everything around it needed to feel more considered, and the product pages needed to be easier to browse.
Approach
I designed a full HTML and CSS mockup first, so the direction could be reviewed before anything changed on the live store. Once the mockup is approved, it becomes the basis for converting the design into the Shopify theme in Liquid.
Key decisions
- The video hero is unchanged. It is the brand's signature and was out of scope.
- No colour or size swatches. The original store doesn't use them, so the redesign doesn't add them.
- No size selector on the landing page. It adds clutter before a visitor has chosen a product.
- A trust and testimonial slider. A Swiper slider brings customer proof into the page.
- A multi-image product gallery. The product card gets a working gallery so visitors can see the garments properly.
Solution
The redesign keeps the brand's hero and adds clearer structure below it. The result is a store that feels calmer, shows more of the product, and removes options that the original store never needed.
